But my comments are not meant to prevent anybody else from playing the game. As I mentioned above, many oldtime gamers have fond memories of this title, so obviously quite a few people had no problems with the arcade-like landing and maneuvering aspects of it. |

Hmmm... whilst this game was great at the time, it has aged pretty badly.
That said, I am hooked on what is basically a modern remake called Freelancer. I just love the way that you can go go anywhere and do what you like (even destroy whole battleships if you really must ) But then again, there is a time when you just have to say 'Hmm... this is unfortunately now completely cack compared to how I remembered it.' It's a shame, really, as I used to play this game like... all day. |

About two years ago i played some version of elite called arc-elite,supposedly the best version because of occurences like pirates attacking the starbase you launched from and ships coming in groups with heavy cargo ships being protected by fast ships etc..
it was really interesting, difficult to control but i must say better then PC versions. Also had this strange atmosphere or computer's long past by now. guide to install here http://galnet.hosted.doosh.net/terminal/pu...c/dontpanic.htm download arc elite here http://www.iancgbell.clara.net/elite/arc/ |

I used to play Frontier: Elite 2 on my Amiga 1200 but i don't remember Elite Plus?
There was an AutoPilot which would take you to the planet/space station and land for you. Is this the game i used to play or is Frontier: Elite 2 different? |

elite plus was the elite 1 - elite 2 frontier was a sequel that was realised in the early 90s if i remember correctly - should still be able to play using dosbox.
