Well, the 'Compatibility - DOSBox' button is kind of obvious, isn't it? And it's also covered in the FAQ section. The only problem is that apparently nobody ever bothers to read it.

everybody wants to play the game as soon as possible, they get excited and just ask directly without looking! Bcoz the games on abandonia are cool ones.

But then adding the line "Please Use DosBox to avoid problems" wouldn't help much either, would it?

Well, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to computers, and even I got DOSBox to work fine using Anubis' excellent tutorial.
 But what I actually meant there was that it's a bit odd that people seem to be scared of a good old DOS command prompt. It's not any more difficult than clicking on an icon, is it? |

Well, you might want to try making a post in the troubleshooting forum, then. Try the search function first, though, to see whether there's already some solution to your problem somewhere.
Sorry I can't help you there, but I never did play Alone in the Dark - it sounded and looked way too scary for me.  |
