The world will end when everyone has become zombies.

Well there will be "always" someone who will be a leader...So infact the world wouldnt end becouse there will be a privileged group of people who will be in lead and "keep the world turning".It will end for those who was too unfortunate and become a zombie...

The world would have ended because it is now only HIS/HER world, there is no world in terms of a connectively active human power.

Is it just me or does this conversation sound like something that could be in Planescape: Torment?

It would be interesting when in this theoretical situation the leader dies.Would that force some zombies to began to think again?

My theory is that they would lose their sense of purpose and live out basic life functions, in term, we would become like animals, with no other features to distinguish us.

I am more optimistic.I think some of them will regain it and well as usuall,probably become a new leaders

They will eventually regain it, but after a period of thousands of years or so, because as the line goes down we will eventually become more curious and intelligent, just as the world is going right now.

The Zombies would probably revert to natural instinct, but the first generation zombies might all die out (their instincts having been erased)

Maybe a lot sooner.When you live in wilderness with animals you MUST have some level of curiosity or intelligence,or you just wont survive...

I said natural functions, one of those is survival, everything in the world is based on survival.
