possible to install destruction derby 2 on windows 7 64 bit?
hi all
i have an iso of destruction derby 2, it is about 650mb, mounted it with virtual clone drive, but the installer tells me 64 bit is unsupported, i think the dd2 installer is 16 bit (64 bit does not support 16 bit) so is there any other way i can get this game to install and play it? or do i have no chance at installing or playing this? thank you |

Just to confirm:
Not 'should', DD2 runs perfect on dosbox 0.73. And as he's* on a 64 bit OS you can (or 'should' here...) expect him** to be on a beefy compy with enough RAM, so : no problemo. * Or 'she' or 'it' ... ** Or 'her' or 'it' ...

As far as I know, it is not possible to run 16 bits games or application in Vista 64 bits.
Sorry. The only way I could remotely think that you can manage to run such a game in Vista 64 bits is to try to use the compatibility modes. Good luck with that. You could try a virtual OS. I think there is some around which could simulate Windows XP or Windows 98 like DOSBox does with DOS. |

Vista restrict the area on your HD on which applications can have access to.
You will need to install the game in your personal folder for it to work. And if the game absolutely need to install a file in Windows root directory (like it was common to do with Windows 95 and 98) then you are boned. I remember that russ_ said once or twice that he knew how to go around this problem. Maybe he could help you with that. If you install it under DOSBox then you should not encouter this problem. You do need to mount your c: drive as well as the cd-rom for this to work though. |
