You might want to check out the official DosBox FAQ, and particularly this part of it. It is quite helpful for users unfamiliar with DosBox.

I suggest you also read the pages about command line, internal programs (very important!) and the config file.

If that stuff is a bit too much for you, you might consider using one of the multiple frontend programs available.

It's all easier then it seems. So remember:

Are you running it in dosbox? If that doesn't work, try running it with VDM sound from windows directly...

Yes, I've tried Dosbox and VDMSound, but the message "please insert Albion CD in your CD-Rom drive" keeps appearing.
It's just like I can start the game, clicking at AUTORUN or ALBION.exe, but there's no cd-rom in order to run....

has this ever happened to any of you guys???

You happen to use a non 4:3 resolution ? Maybe something like 1280x800 or alike ?
Can mess things up...
Try switching to 1024x768 or something.

Get a program like alcohol 120% and mount the file onto your hardrive. Or burn it to a cd. It's that simple .

How long is this game? I had it years ago but never got that far, it seemed like it was gonna be huge.
