I voted for Monkey Island 3
It's the first game of the series that I played, and absolutely loved the hi-res graphics, the humour, the music, the puzzles, the ship battles (upgrades included ) and everything else. Afterwards, I played Monkey Island 2, and finally 1... yep, backwards :P They were all great. Haven't tried number 4 yet, since I seem to keep hearing how bad it is compared to the predecessors |

I voted Fate of Atlantis, the three paths rule:
If you like puzzles, you've got the wits path, if you like diplomacy, you've got the team path, if you like fighting, you've got the fists path! How much does that rule? |

LOOM is probably the most original of the Lucasart games I've played. It's really brilliant. Even today it doesn't feel that dated. LOOM is one of the few games that I consider art (another is Riven).

It had a great atmosphere, sure, but it was a bit, you know, serious. One of the main reasons why I liked the Lucas Arts adventures so much was their humour, and there wasn't really much of that in Loom...

Nope, but I think that LOOM more than made up for it with all the music and settings. And the story is one of the most original ones I've seen. It would make a nice movie
Just look at those screens (enhanced version) |

I think we've seen Loom.
I agree with Raffle, despite all it's pros, Loom isn't my favorite Lucas Arts game because it's too "serious" The only games I can play that're remotely serious for a long duration of time are the Myst games or fantastic games like Sanitarium. Oh, and Adventure is not the ultimate genre, far from it, from what I remember, the reason the adventure genre died down because of it's unoriginal, lackluster, Myst-ripoff titles. It wasn't just an "abandonment" it was a lack of interest because of countless clones and mediocre games. Although the adventure genre does have countless gems, it's among one of the genres that has too many turds too count. But I voted Grim Fandango. P.S. - I think many people that voted for The Dig never played it, :bleh: You know, the game was underrated, but it still sucked somewhat.

*my candidates* Most fun: The Dig Best story: Grim Fandango Best Puzzles: Day of the Tentacle Most original: LOOM *edit* By the time this poll reaches 100 votes Grim Fandango will be in the lead, mark my words... *edit* Unless all the voters are retro gamers, then Grim Fandango won't be first. |
