I also see your point good friend I was thinking of the guys selling blackmarket disks a few blocks away from where I live. They make alot of burned copies and sell them at the street, and they get arrested, and someone else take's their place. Please forgive my general comment that doesn't apply for you trying the free programs
I didn't meant freeware programs ya know

I hate street pirates who try to make money of free downloads. They should die. Painfully. They are runining everything.
The groups making software avalible for free, is just a good thing in my point of view. You can try your software out, and then buy it if you like it to recieve the additional stuff, like legal cd-key, tech support and other things. If you don't like the full version, why should you buy it? Companies releasing cr@p don't deserve support. There is the message in every .NFO file "Support companies that release quality software! They deserve it!" If you download a program, try it in it's full extent and you decide it is not woth it, delete it. Did you steal anything? No, you deleted it. If you download a software and you decide it is great, then you must buy it. did you steal anything? No, you bought it.

I think all this piracy matter is different for everybody. Some uses it, some abuses it, some hates it! That the way it goes. Its too bad there is no "money back guarantee" for software and games. Piracy should drop back a lot, that's for sure.

i agree with play totally and im not just licking as. also people who use cracked ultra cost music software tend to have this wierd code that if you make any money off the software (even if its only enought to pay for the software) you buy it. in fact a lot of the old cracks used to have that stated on the disclaimer. if you are using this pro end software for commercial purposes then it is in your interest to have free acsess to the updates and technical support. + a lot of the extra online goodies. for noobies tho a non savable demo isnt really enuff for them to figure if they like the software. yes you could argue that there is cheap end and freeware music software available but as a lot of the people who use cracks of the hi end music software actually buy it in the end, (and remeber folks the good stuff goes for 400$ +) it means it is kind of in the corperations interest for hacks to go out. also with 3d desighn software like lightwave. the punk kid who use's a cracked version to become a master on could well go in in later life to use it commecially, maybe even set up a farm, at that point the company are suddenly gettin multiple licenses which means good money for them. if you think about it with stuff like windows, photoshop, lightwave, flash, dreamweaver ect the real money is in the network licenses. as anyone who has spent some time surfing for warez knows it is quite dangerous if your machine has insufficent defenses. and no matter how good your defences are unless you are running through some cruel little sandbox they will get you eventually if you keep looking for stuff for free.

i dont think the industry is in the danger they claim they are in. the thing is i think they are having to adapt a little. they make huge profits for a long time then people start forcasting how much they are losing to piracy. this is a dangerous thing to do as you end up with a greater figure than is actual. what i mean by this is that as a lot of people are uisng hacks of stuff they cant afford at the time, so they wouldent have bought it at that time anyway. so no one loses money. as for games its quite simple, pretty much evry game ever comes down in price pretty soon after it is released. i refuse to pay 30$ + for a damn game but i will pay 5 - 15$ for a game. the only way to stop them releasing games at such inflated prices is simply not to buy them at that price.

also if they continue to make it exrtemly hard to multiplay without an real account they will continue to do well from multiplayers. what this unfortuantly means is there are going to be great one player games that have shoddy multiplayer grafted on.

sold out. Good, relitively unheard of (at least to me) games that work, have patches, and even a manual on the pc. I always lose printed manuals..

Yeah, sold-out is cool! I bought Broken Sword 2 and a couple of games in that package. Also there is more bargain packages like this that contain unregrettably forgotten games that are actuall good!
