Easily my favorite game ever, great addition to Abandonia!
Text interface > Stupid mouse - boosts your WPM and mental muscles
Personally I suggest playing 1, 2, and 4 in this series, but be sure to learn about the bugs in 4 before you start! Only hardcore fans should bother with 3, and 5 was a QFG game in name only
All in all the Coles made a series no classic gamer should go without.

Also, remember, if you're into magic, cast detect magic in the streets of shapeir. Wonderful things await

Hi all!
I don't know which '.exe' file I should click! INST.EXE? SCIV.EXE? TSTDRIVE.EXE? Please, help, because MS-DOS really scares me ;_;... so I don't want to make a mistake...

you need to setup your hardware in "install.bat" first, then run "trial.bat"
and if you r running on win98 or less it might work i guess, But if you r on XP you ll need to use dosbox.
so in that case.. download it from this site (programs section), when you run it type "intro" and follow instructions.
after mounting your drive run install.bat, choose "EGA/VGA", "AdLib", ibm keyboard.. pick joysitck, or not.. use mouse, or not.. and then Esc, dont try to install the game.
after that run trial.bat and tadah \o/
serve warm with slice of french cheese and cold beer

Maybe I've been too messy in my post (I also don't know very much about software etc), because I only had to select 'sciv.exe' and the game did work, without installing anything!
Anyway, thank you very very much! You've been so much kind ^^

QFG 2 was easily the best of the series... i didnt mind the story in 3 such as it was but it just seemed to simple too me, i think i clocked it first sitting in 3 to 4 hours. What it did do was kill the multi-class options tho. at least in 1 & 2 even if u didnt have stealth ability you could steal from the houses in speilburg and shapier by typing what u wanted to do... instead of attemptin to move urself there. didnt seem to work when u went to get the falcon in Raseir tho if i remember

What i didnt like about 3, 4 & 5 was the options for random larceny seemed very limited but for the thief the best was the harem scene in 2 lol

and for the mage the WIT test was infinitely more excitin than the shaman battle in 3

as for the fighter and paladin.... who cares its just bash stuff lol

I am a huge fan of the Quest for Glory games, this one is my third favourite not counting 5 due to me not having played it. ^ The VGA remake is a very good and faithfull game, I really enjoyed it. Though nothing will beat QFG One EGA best Adventure/RPG ever.

Anyone knows where and how many Honor-points you can get?
I have the list about paladin-points, but Honor seems more critical, especiall if you are not a fighter, so you won't have access to those extra quests.

As the class-changing bug didn't kick in, I decided to download the VGA remake instead, and only think good on Abandonia while playing it.

I strongly suggest using that version for several reasons:
- the graphic is updated, based on the 1st's VGA. (and imagine what you can see NOW with those X-ray glasses! I certainly hope they left it in there.)
- the old controlls are only optionall now, and let's face it: typing took time. This is a limited timelengthed game. Guess why I'm happy.
- you can change your class at import. So if you started in the 1st's VGAversion just for all the stats as a thief, you can correct what was forced on you.
- when importing you receive an additional 25 statpoints to distibute! Whoa!
- you won't forget to name your hero, as it doesn't let you finish charactergeneration without a name. Makes sense as you earned yourself a name in Spielburg.

The price for all that is a much larger size of the files, but I bet you'll be able to find that space nowdays on your harddrive.
One thin too: to import a character you have to copy the file into the directory this game is installed, as it doesn't allow browsing!

So my first impression is good

The remake of Quest for Glory 2 was made by AGD Interactive, and they host it for free on their website. It's not really the sort of thing I would expect Abandonia to host, although I'm not sure about Reloaded.
