![]() I wouldn't say it's cheating so much as buying yourself some time. If a company goes bankrupt, the computer will generate a new company later on. Hopefully by then you'll have mustered the financial resources to prevent the newcomer from gaining too much ground. The replacement in my current game started off with two airports and a Dart-class airplane, but didn't make a lot of money.
I've also heard that buying 75% of a new rival company early on is a good idea and brings a lot of cash down the road. This depends, of course, if you're trying to mess with their company to begin with. Some questions: 1. I had a train hauling wood from a forest to a sawmill, and a company built a train from that forest to the sawmill I was delivering to, and the forest stopped providing my train with wood. Is there a way I can take control back? 2. What determines company value? The value of every piece of property you own? |

![]() 1. When 2 companies are trying to haul something from the same source, a fight insue. When you look at the company prodiding resources you'll see a % displayed. This shows how much of it's product is being transported.
If you look at your own station there you'll see a % too, that's the % of product you personnaly receive from the company everytime it produce something. This mean that the higher the %, the more you'll have to transport. You can increase the % by increasing the frequency of your trains at the station (having 2 or 3 trains, even perhaps slower, with smaller loads usually help a lot here) and/or by shortening the time your train wait at the station before it is fully loaded by reducing the number of carts it carry. 2. Company value is everything you own plus your money minus what you borrow from the bank. |

![]() I can confirm; It works just fine on Windows 98. I had some problems with the music, but that might have just been my MIDI engine.

![]() So far it doesn't look like anyone else has had this problem, so I'll ask it.
Every new train that has come out so far, I have been able to build...then all of a sudden, 2 new trains that came out after the AsianStar, I can't seem to build because it's not listed under the New Vehicles list. I remember seeing the little message pop up for both newer trains so even though they are "supposedly" there, they aren't. I want to use the newer trains so bad, but I can't I don't have the patch downloaded on the computer that I play on, if that makes a difference. |

![]() After a while you will have a new kind of train available and you will need to build a new kind of track to be able to make them run. The track is one rail instead of two. To access them, I beleive you need to click on the train icon and choose either for regular trains or the new kind.
I personally hardly ever played with those trains because I'm so fond in trying to break the record of The Transport Tycoon Deluxe Challenge. This mean that I usually stop playing way before 1990... By what I remember, those trains are really faster tough you will need to change every track if you want to switch to them. There is no way around this. |
