Your mounting sucks ... your game can't find the needed files in the subdirs.

Try this:

mount c ~/documents/dosgames/
c:
cd hulk
hulk
It still freezes at the exact same place even with that mounting. :-\ I'm also pretty sure it isn't a corrupted install since I've tried it a couple times, and it always freezes in that exact place. Any other suggestions? :-\ Thank you very much for your help.

is the accumulative size of the whole hulk directory 7 934 010 bytes?
(real size of files, not `size on disk, including unused cluster space`)

Also, input dir/w when you're in the hulk dir in dosbox, must look like this:
click->
Mind the subdirs.

And did you alter something in dosbox's settings?

FYI: just tried again with a fresh downloaded game, works flawless, so something is wrong/screwed up on your end.

Last advise: ask someone with a real computer (Windows ) to download the game and unzip the whole folder on an USB key or so for you, it wouldn't be the first time that a #@#@#@#mac goes completely wrong unzipping an archive.

[Edit]
That's how the hulk folder looks
click->
Again, mind the subdirs.

Sorry to impose but I have the exact same problem as "guest" with the game freezing as soon as "warhammer 40,000" pops up on the opening screen.

My system is WinXP, DosBox 0.74

I upped cycles to 6000 as indiacted in an earlier post but the same thing happens whether I use 6000 or the default 3000.

My folder is larger than the size indicated by r.u.s.s. and is just over 8 043 704 bytes large.

Guest are you still around? Did you get it to work?

Thanks all

Edit: I reinstalled dosbox and boosted the cycles to 10000 and it worked for a few minutes but crashed as soon as I completed the first training mission. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Open dosbox.conf and find mpu401=intelligent. Change it to mpu401=UART , save config, run DOSBox again and see if anything changes.

Thanks for the feedback.

I was able to reach the end of the second tutorial mission before the game froze. Same symptoms as before, the image freezes and the sound stutters continuously until I close it.

Please zip the game directory, upload it to Mediafire and send me a link.
I will compare it with my copy to check for corrupted files.

The only difference is with your executable - whatever it is, it's not the one from Abandonia's copy of the game, and twice as large. You might want to try the one from Abandonia's copy of the game.

I really appreciate your help.

Unfortunately, after reinstalling dosbox (just to be sure) and re-downloading hulk form abandonia and setting cycles to 10000 and UART as well I get the same freeze and stutter, at the end of the first tutorial mission.

I was also sure to have nothing else running in the background.

My command line is as follows:

mount c c:\dos
cd\cdrive\hulk
hulk
