In this post it says "Always save the screens as .png;", but it is talking about screenshots, not boxshots.

While I was preparing the boxshots I remembered reading about the format but did not remember that it was referring to screenshots.

Sorry for the confusion.

Maybe the "Submitting Content to Abandonia: Here's How" instructions should include an explicit note that boxshots should be in PNG or minimally compressed JPG format? It's up to you.
