I listed 2 workarounds in the HOTU comments. (Audric)
It's still annoying sometimes, but the game is still very playable and very enjoyable - I finished it several times, trying different teams.

These "unusable symbols" are actually binary data. Notepad is trying to read the file as pure text, which won't work.
What you need to modify it is a hex editor - you can find a list here, my personal favorite is Hex Workshop.

this is a website with dos games, you need a dos emulator in order to play on xp

get dosbox, start the program and type "intro"

try pressing ctrl+f10 in order to lock the mouse focus to dosbox window, althought it should do automatically. it doesn't do so automatically only with few games

Default Manual required -

Thanks to this site, I downloaded and played the game, but now it's full stop.

No manual, no reference for symbols after the second dungeon!

Copyright protection notwithstanding, what's the workaround for this?

Is there a manual download link now on site? Plans for one?

Otherwise, HHotW is a great FPS RPG.

Unfortunately it is no more available. Could you send the manual to rombell <> mail.ru ?
