Would that be a possible cause of the main problem I described? (not the lack of sound and music but the game freezeup on switching over from the geoscape map.) |

![]() I configured the sound the way you described but it doesn't appear to have made any difference.

![]() I will suppose you unarchived the game in:
C:\users\jon\desktop\oldgames\xcom\ Your lines: Mount C C:\users\jon\desktop\oldgames mount d C:\users\jon\desktop\oldgames\xcom -t cdrom c: cd xcom cdsetup d: This will launch the soundsetup. Choices that work: Sound FX Soundblaster Base port: 220 IRQ: 7 DMA: 1 4 sounds channels Music: SB AWE32 Run game in dosbox with ufo BTW, music is ripped, only FX sounds.

![]() Dosraider, you're talking about X-Com: Apocalypse.
Happyfanatic has problems with X-Com: UFO Defense (alias UFO: Enemy Unknown). |

![]() Whoooopsy .......
[Edit] Just checked: UFO - Enemy Unknown_DOS.zip So that's the one, isn't it? Xcom apocalypse is XCOM3. So: no whoopsy. [Edit²] BTW, just tried again from scratch. happyfanatic, delete your gamefolder, and restart from scratch. Your lines: Mount C C:\users\jon\desktop\oldgames mount d C:\users\jon\desktop\oldgames\xcom -t cdrom c: cd xcom ufocd Seems the setup screws some things up, don't run it. Simply use those mount lines and run with ufocd, you'll have sound FX and music. Dosbox version 0.72, default config.

![]() Music isn't ripped from this one. Not that it would give any noticeable size reduction, since it's in MIDI format, IIRC.

![]() Indeed, you're right, is corrected in my previous post.
Seems that when you run setup it screws some things up.
