hello! so i've realized that this is about the n00b-est thing ever, but i was just wondering why i can't start a new topic in the 'unknown game threads' subform of the requests forum?
is it that i need to wait a certain amount of time, or something?

Correct. They are used to cathegorize existing threads. Thus, I made it so that nobody (not even admins) can start new threads there.

You post your thread in the main Requests forum, then, it's moved into the appropriate subforum my the mods/admins there. I'm not sure if this happens when they first categorise your thread or when your questino has been answered.[/b]

It happens when the question has been answered.
If after several months the question remains unresolved, it ends up in the "unknown" forum instead.

Users can reply to threads in "approved", "unknown" and "freeware" cathegories.
Only forum staff (moderators, updaters & admins) can reply in the "rejected" cathegory. That was done to prevent newbies asking for warez there, but if you have a better way in mind I'm open to suggestions.
Nobody can post in "on site", "invalid" and "non-request", as that wouldn't serve any purpose.
