Well Smetana is really too popular over here, because his Wltava (Moldau) is basically just a variation of our national children folk song (but he put it in A minor - the original is in C major). So I had to listen to it so many times in shcool and repeat this fact, that I got sick.
I forgot to mention another great Russian composer before - Prokofiev (his music is also in some great Soviet classical movies by Eisenstein). |
