Hi. I think the game im looking for is from the 80s, DOS and probably monochrome. Is set in a medieval time with a castle, catacombs, etc.
The game is a first person and everything is composed of polygons.

The objective of the game is to hunt a fixed number of ghosts. Now that i think of it, you can free roam for a good part of the diferents zones with few restrictions.

I remember one or two things more:

You start outside a big castle with the drawbridge up and you have to shot a rock at a switch to bring it down.

There are clues in text in riddles that hint where you can find a ghost.

The underground catacombs where a huge maze like place and you can be easily be lost.
