well if you set the vdmsound or dosbox settings to be the same (otherwise it would be pointless) setting the setup.exe sound settings higher would give better sound, but use more cpu power. i only have a 1.1 ghz amd so i couldnt test.
i know from my blood map making days that the sound samples in blood arent at a very high sample rate, so having more channels would be more useful than higher samplerate.
