Depends on your choice of mp3s...
BTW, I seriously do not like your avatar. |

If music is supposed to be for a game, it should be made so that it fits in with the game, not with the favorite music of the people who make the game. Why do you think there aren't more games featuring music by [insert MTV approved band here]? People won't go for it. Sure, if it's a game like KISS: Psycho Circus or Crue Ball, then their music would belong in the game. If it's yet another Tetris variant, then your favorite over-commercialized band-for-profit's music shouldn't belong.

What I meant for mp3s is that if you have a mystery RPG and you have in the background the song Toxic by Britney Spears, it might ruin the moment. The song and the lyrics must be relevant to the gameplay and action unfolding in the game. Also, I don't know about others, but when I play games I prefer the in game music to not have any lyrics.
As for your previous avatar (thank you for changing it), the problem does not lie with Cartman (I like the series), but with him imitating Hitler. I do have a problem against nazism, considering how they murdered a large part of my country's population, among others. |

I think its better for the gamemaker to create his own music, its then original and unique and makes the game more interesting.

You must have played NFS Underground 2. I liked that game but the songs (MP3) in the background becomes boring after sometime of play. So it's always good noy include MP3. But the idea is not so bad, if you make a normal game(not RPG) I suggest you to try it!

NFSU 1 and 2 is the most complete utter sh*t I've ever witnessed and played. Not even the best songs could help it out.
Anyway, every game that created it's OWN music (mp3 or not) did a good job. k: |

I think you must try Prince of Persia:The Warrior Within to see and get some experience on background music. The game's music is just top class. Give it a try!
You can also sample the music on their official website at:- http://www.princeofpersiagame.com Thanx
