Well, I might be loony, but about a month ago Rainwife and I were at Stonehenge... I've noticed something there and looked around for what it could be... I couldn't find any mentioning of it. I know it's very ambitious on my behalf, but I've contacted the British Royal Academy about this and I'm waiting for their reply.

What I think this shows is a Viking Dragonship on the side of one of the stones. Being only a tourist I off course wasn't allowed closer so I did the best I could with the zoom of my camera...

What do you think?

BTW - if you see it in person it does have more resemblence... Especially if you have good binoculars with you.

What's so special about ships on the stones? Someone else could have made them. A long time ago. Maybe the Celts had no idea what Stonehenge was and painted on it...I don't know much about history and Stonehenge, but you asked for our opinions...

Hmm, I wouldn't be so sure you're the first person to notice it. Imagine how many people would have looked at that same spot..

Also corrected the title. One of our best reviewers, and he still writes "Snoehenge"...

That's perfectly OK. I'm not saying I'm actually right and that it is a Viking ship. It may just be a horse shoe for all I know... The exciting part (at least for me) is, that although there are many mentionings of Stonehenge and every stone has like a dozen or so books of explenations written about it - I hadn't found a mentioning of this image - whatever it is (not claiming I was actually able to go through all the material on Stonehenge).

That stone on the left also seems like it has a symbol of some sort...

I think those Royal Goodfornuttins don't give a sh*t about what Borut found... <_< I don't even think they ever gonna reply, unless some automated or premade response like "thank you for your interest in Stonehenge! We are please that you like this old pile of stones that even we don't know what is it good for, and we don't care really until you come and pay for seeing it...." or something like that. I think the aliens made those. Many think it's an old calender or something, but why would they make such a fuss about a simple calendar? well, I like mysteries....

It is not mentioned in any Stonehenge books for the simple reason that [idle speculation alert!] the chance of that being on the stone when it was erected is about zero. The culture that propped up those megaliths was long gone by the time of the roman conquest. The real problem with any book that tries to explain the significance of the stones at Stonehenge is that they were erected by a mystery cult from a preliterate society. They never wrote anything down and they never talked to outsiders about it. Aside from astronomical alignments, we have nothing more than tales given by people who were not sure, themselves, what their neighbours were doing.

There are the remains of the wooden structures resembling the Stonehenge and some archeological finds, but nothing conclusive.

I think you're right. It's highly improbable (if not actually impossible) that this image would be on the stone from the very begining on. It may be some sort of medieval grafitti or nothing at all. And that is exactly why I did notify an institution which does have the possibility to (if nothing else) have a person come right up to the stone and try to determine what this could be in the first place. There's always a chance it's nothing more then a coinsidance.
