Would it be a good idea to put an extra line in the 'totals' box on the front page where it says 'Number of games 478' that says something in the lines of:
'Downloadable games 290' (this being a link as well to the page explaining why certain games can not be hosted on the site etc. etc.) This might prevent people from trying out a few games and then say "Pff. nice site, but they only have reviews and screenshots. I came for a downloadable game. Screw them , I'm going Home". Another way of doing this was to put that little floppy icon next to the games (in the overview per genre page), but this would probably mean an extra field in the database which would be more work to implement I guess. Just my two cents worth! PS. I still believe Abandonia is great! And it shows integrity on the side of the admins that ESA's demands are so rapidly executed. You all have my full support (and I will send a polite email to the ESA that they reconsider). Edit: Just read titan's post in the other thread and I will NOT contact them! |

Thanks Santa, but frankly I think you're a product of Coca Cola's marketing campaign. A perversion of good christian values and a corruption of a Holy Day on which we should remember the birth of Jezus Christ instead of writing letters to a jolly old fat guy with a reindeer fetish who probably is a large shareholder in Wallmart.
Anyway, it was a honest suggestion about the site. So a genuine reaction would be appreciated... Spam your own topics, will you. |

Ah ok. So the 'Available for download' icon next to the game (in the overview mode) would be feasible? And do you think it's a good idea at all?

an "available for download" button next to the game would be wonderful, because I am getting kind of pissed that almost every game I click on is invalid.

Reamus, Reamus... you weren't fast enough, that's all. All games added onto the site that I could want I downloaded long, long ago, almost as soon as they appeared (and am doing that on regular basis now)
