Maybe some of the visitors of this site will have heard on the news that there are currently elections in Croatia and since this is a Croation founded site I was wondering, who did the Croation visitors vote for and why? What do the Croation visitors to the site think of their country possibly joining the EU?

Well as a half Croat, half Slovene (living in Slovenija) I think they have good prospects, but I doubt they'll join before 2010.
There are still some things to settle mostly about the Haag... Too many emotions on some parts, also there are some iner tentions (just a few days ago some yet unknow group of people bombed the statue of Josip broz Tito in his home village of Kumrovec OMG .

I can't understand what kind of satisfaction that can bring to someone.

It is part of history, no matter if we like it or not and there is some value in it.

Election results are as I expected, but I think it is sad that Croatians living in Bosnia(aka Hercegovci), have decided that there will be a second round of election.

About the problems with Haag, that's just stupidity I mean is one general really so important for them , all the others are on trial anyway, I think that there are some nations in EU(15) , that wouldn't like too see us in EU....

I still don't understand why would hercegovci vote in croatia, unless all of them are also citizens in croatia.

Can they all have both citizenships?

There was a good joke last time I was in Zagreb about 'hercegovci':

What would Zagreb be called if Hercegovci have light bulbs instead of eyes?

Las Vegas

LOL @ joke

Anyway I think they have double citizenship or something but with that logic Sebatiaonos would also get to vote here in Croatia.

I know, that's why I am confused.

Same logic people form 'sandzak' (part of Serbia and Montenegro) like to use to become citizen of Bosnia, country that they have nothing to do with.

As for people from Sandzak, they have another joke in Sarajevo:

Why city transport have to work 24 hours a day.

So the people from Sandzak can't build a house on the roads and railroads.

well i think they should do like australia and make voting compulsory for all citizens at least tha way everyone has a say - apparently some guy got 49% of the vote but it has to go to a runoff because he didnt get a clear majority. Sounds fair enough similar to indonesia elections.
