![]() Some of you probably already saw this, but here's the FPS scene from the Doom movie, personally, I thought it was really cool, but feel free to post what you think (and if you post "it sucks" without any valid reasons, your post will be a waste of time).

![]() It sucks.
My valid reasons: the music made my ears sad Everything looked to be made out of plastic. it was badly cut. Jumped around too much. It was just like watching someone play Doom, right down to a big gun distracting the eye from the occurances on the screen. I think it's sheer stupidity killed a huge chunk of my neurons. It was from the Doom movie. The Doom movie was garbage. Although, I'll admit, it stayed true to Doom 3 in the sense that it was too dark to tell what the hell was happening for most of it. |

![]() I'd admit watching it on YouTube is terrible.
It's fantastic on the big screen/DVD. They chopped up the music and the sound effects/visuals really bad in the clip. Perhaps your definition of the movie is "garbage" but it's that kind of senselessness that prevents you from actually enjoying the movie. I didn't expect it to be any good (saw it on opening day) and I thought it was decent, no more, I'd probably only watch it once again (for the commentary on the DVD) but I'll remember it for it's sheer pointlessness. P.S. - What're you talking about with the "big gun" that thing hardly took up 25% of the screen, wear your glasses. :bleh: Oh, and that clip is ten minutes long, you posted earlier than that, I doubt you even watched the whole thing. Or rather you didn't watch it at all. And I doubt you'd even seen it before.

![]() Let's just say that in film, there are certain compositions for shots you wish to strive towards. Games do not have that same cinematic quality, and it really shows here. Hence the fact that having a big gun on the screen at all times is a bad idea.
And yes, I've seen this clip before. And "jumping around" doesn't refer to the first person perspective, but random cuts in this clip. |

![]() I enjoy the random cuts. :bleh:
Keeps it like a movie. They actually gave me a headache, I didn't like them as much as the rest of the scene.

![]() Yes, I have seen it before, as I edited. I frequent more boards than this one, and that clip in particular spread about on alot of them.
I dunno... the whole film screams "UWE BOLL FOLLOWER!" Damn I hate that man.... |

![]() I'm not talking about the quality. The quality can't save it from the content.

![]() Yes it can.
First of all you complained about the music, it's horrid in the clip, the digital audio was ripped terribly. Then you complained about the "big gun" which on the screen takes up a very small portion when you're watching it on a TV/Theatre. You also said "Everything looked like plastic" they rather do look silly in the movie as full, but they look metallic when you're watching it properly. Then you said it was too dark, on TV/Theatre, it was bright enough to see every occurence. Even the "looked like someone playing Doom" is different, it rather actually looks like seeing through someone else's eyes. The clip size and it's terrible quality looks worse than Doom III, minimizing the effect that it has on your eyeballs and brains.

![]() I'm not complaining about the audio quality. The music itself sucks. It's generic "BADASS!" heavy rock with no redeeming values.
I'm not complaining about the small screen. The gun would take up just as much on a larger one, in proportion to a larger screen. Screen size is irrelevant. And judging from high quality stills, everything still looks like cheap plastic. Alright, I'll give you that, it could be dark because of the clip. ...but the rest still sticks. |
