Since we are starting with questions like '' what came first , the chicken or the egg'' I have a question on my own. I want to know how the hardened tip on shoelaces is called. Preferably in dutch, but in english is ok to

In english they are called Aglets. not only do they prevent the ends from fraying but they make the lace easier to hold, and easier to pass through the eyelets, which I am assuming is the holes the shoe laces go through. All this thanks to Ians shoelace site (I can't believe anyone would watse their time making a whole website dedicated to shoelaces, he obviously has no life).

In Holland I don't think we have a name for it :-/ , so I wanted to know if other countries had

I'd call it plastieken toppeke and I guess everybody that speaks Dutch'd understand it if they know you're talking 'bout shoelaces.
