Hi All,
I briefly mentioned this in an earlier post, but is anyone interested in working on either a conversion or remake of Alley Cat? I don't have a great deal of C programming experience but I could probably do this in either Flash or Shockwave with some help. My main work machine is a Mac but I have a (rather handy) copy of Virtual PC 4 so can run a PC-based development environment if needed (as well as the game itself, of course...)
As I'm an assembler newbie, it would be helpful if anyone with 8086 experience could get involved to reverse-engineer the game from the original code (all 56Kb of it!) from which a new version could be produced. My original intention was to convert the game for Game Gear but this was probably a bit ambitious, given my lack of Z80 knowledge.
Anyway, please post here/send me a message if you're interested. This might also be a good project to take on for anyone interested in getting involved in games production for digital TV or mobile gaming as the game itself features a good balance of interesting mini-games, isn't too complicated and wouldn't be too processor-intensive.
TIA,
dodginess
