When I go to download some games it says i'm downloading a zip file but when my download is finished it isn't a zip file and no extraction program will extract it I can't open it with anything :ranting:

Perhaps you used a download manager? If you did, try without it and see if that helps.

just rename it to a filename.zip
at my place the zip extension gets lost now and then as well.

indeed especially when you use a non internet explorer browser.

just add .Zip at the end of the file and you'll be able to open it...

If you downloaded one of the text based games then you may get a .z5 file, which you can run with WinFrotz
