this is not a farewell thread.

Is there a way to have several windows/programs open at once at specific locations and specific positions/sizes (where applicable). Is there a program that allows that?

You mean to save the positions and so on? Well, you could suspend the PC rather than shutting it down. or did you mean to have them appear each time you start it up?

I'm sure a or some programs exist already which would allow you to do that. Don't ask me their name tough... I have no idea.

Sorry not to be able to help you more on this.

What I have in mind is something like this: You execute a program or a shortcut and you have 4-5 programs launch, each at a certain position and size in your screen.

I know acer notebooks have a tool called gridvista, which allows you to make a grid on your desktop and drag windows over it until they lock into position. I don't know if you can download it from the acer site...

Well I've seen some sort of windows emulator... It was suppose to emulate Win9x on Win2000 system. I don't know if it relly worked - I prefered dual boot.
