I just built a computer just for DOS Games. It runs fine, a lot of the games from this site run perfect (right speed, wonderful sound), but every once in a while, the system just stops, the screen turns black and says "PARITY CHECK". Not only when playing games, also in the DOS prompt. At first I thought of the virus Parity Boot, with which I've had problems before, so I made many virus checks using F-Prot, but it never found anything. Can you help me? :help: :help:

parity check ? hmm you probably disable it in the bios.
but it indicates bad memory or a bad cpu cache

Should move this in 'Technical Stuff' sub-forum, as troubleshooting is meant for games only. You should check memory. How much memory you have in that machine?
