Hi.. the UFO version on this site is for windows users.. i have dosbox and would like to know if there's a dos version somewhere so I can run this on Linux.

yes it exists. I use it as well (also under linux).

Tried to get the windows version started. Worked fine ´til the moment when the
first mission should start. It didn´t. But kicked me out of the program.

Why are there two .exe files in the archive?
What´s the matter of these weired breakdowns that doesn´t seem to appear on your systems?
What can I do?

I use WinXP AMD Duron 750

I have the same problem, everything works fine until the first ground mission, then you get kicked out.

Make sure to unzip all the files to a single directory (and of course recurse old directories) instead of running the setup in the archive to install the game. Then play the game.
