I have a c2d 8400 and gtx 260 card. theme parks runs really fast on my comp. at 3000 cycles of dosbox and reducing the cycle percentage to 5% whole year passes in 23 sec or so. And this is in Vesa mode.

i can reduce it to 1% cycles but at that speed game comes to a stand still ... 1 day takes like over 1 min to pass.

i have tried many things including just running dosbox and reducing the cycles to like only 15 cycles but nothing works.

i forgot to add that the game runs at inconsistent speed like its moving really fast then just fast then really fast. coz the bus that goes by moves fast then slow then fast again and the blinking icon in bottom left also blinks inconsistently

any ideas ?

i solved the problem.

The problem is cycles. Though it was mentioned in review that cycles should be kept at 10000 using ctrl+f11 and f12 but u cant really keep it at exact 10000 closest i achieved was 9963 cycles.


anyway i read another thread one guy there said to use "cycles 10000" at dos prompt.

that fixes it

i hope it helps anyone else that is having that problem in case ctrl+f11 doesnt work

In Dosbox's config file you can set the amount of cycles it starts with and how much ctrl+F11/F12 change it. Mine is set at 10000 and moves 1000 up and down. This tutorial has a good explanation of how to do this.
