Howdy everyone, great site and great selection of games. Thanks for taking the time to hook us all up! :Brain:

Well, here's my problem.

I'd been looking for LSL for years now, and had only been able to find the Kings Quest games..until I found this site.

So, I've downloaded Dosbox, and I can get Zak Mckracken to work on it just fine, but I can't, for the life of me, even get LSL to start.

This is what I do...on WinXP....

Load up DosBox.

Type mount c c:\oldgames (which is the file i have zak, larry, and larry3 saved in)

Type C:

This is where I run into my problem. "cd Larry" doesn't work. "cd *entire name of larry folder*" doesn't work. Nothing I try works, it always tells me it "cant change" or whatever. Is there something else I need to do, or am missing? Do I need some other program to play the Larry games on?

Thanks for any help I may recieve beforehand.

Be sure the directory is not longer than 8 characters.

You should try mounting LSL directory directly as c:\ in DOSBox instead of going thru c:\oldgames

I can't give more specific help since I don't really understand the problem here.

You can type "cd [first letter of folder]" and press TAB to cycle throught the folders that start with that letter. Does that work?

Okay, lets see if I can explain this better....

When I downloaded zak mckracken, i created a folder in my C: drive called oldgames, and put it in there.

I load up DosBox.

I type "Mount C C:\oldgames"

Then I type "cd zak"

Then I type "zak.exe" and it starts running.

I downloaded Liesure suit larry to the same "oldgames" folder.

I load up DosBox.

I type "mount c c:\oldgames"

Then I type "cd larry" and it says "unable to change to larry"

I changed the name of the larry folder from "larry-in the land of the lounge lizards" to just "larry" and it still gives me the same "unable to change to larry" message. Even if that did work, there is no .exe file in the larry folder, so I still wouldn't know what to type after that if it even did work.

Ha, it's kinda rough explaining a problem when I don't know what it is either. :P

The process kinda works, I type "cd l" and hit tab, but it only shows one thing. "Loadfix.com" which I don't even know what that is.

EDIT: Okay, nevermind, I got it to work. Now I have another problem. How do I get it to save my game? I pressed F5 and brought up the save screen, but i can't get it to save anywhere. It keeps telling me there is no *insert name of directory here* nomatter where I try it. I've created new folders inside the larry folder, directly on my local disc, nothing seems to work. It keeps giving me that same message.
