Is Druid: Daemons of the Mind not abandonware?

Ok, i checked the "Oldwarez list" on your site and found that the status of "Druid: Daemons Of The Mind" was "Abandonware". Still, under company it said "ESA Mindscape Inc." and if Im not mistaken we're not allowed to upload ESA-games, or?

Reason I asked is since I found the game in a drawer and thought about uploading it to the site...

Descriptions for ESA member companies

The meaning of the different statuses will change when the company is an ESA Member. They are as follows. The numbers in the brackets represent how many games of each respective status are currently in the database:
Abandonware (781)
These softwares are by all means abandoned by their rightful owner(s), and ESA is only protecting these softwares in name. In reality, ESA deems them not worthy their attention, and would rather use their time and effort on more well known software. This means that these softwares can be hosted on Abandonware Sites, if the webmaster is willing to risk it. Just because ESA isn't actively protecting them, doesn't mean they don't protect them at all. There is still a risk with these softwares.

Should clarify why it is listed as both ESA and abandoned. The game is by all means abandoned, but that doesn't mean it isn't protected.

As for the game itself, there is one simple way to solve all this;
Can you play the game?

Because I have the CD myself, but I am unable to run it on Win XP or using DOSBox.

So, if your version plays, then we can look further into it

Honestly, I think that even considering taking that risk is going too far. Abandonia is not a warez site, and we should not get in trouble with ESA.

I think you still remember how much work you had last year at about the same time, Tom. Remember how quickly ESA can pull a plug on us.

The Daemons of mind... was a GREAT game... I'll se if my CD works... if so, I'll rip it (if it's not ESA protected)

It's abandoned, but pretty big, if I remember correctly. So it would only be suitable for the VIP longue - unless you can get it under 75 MB (zipped).
