Is the thing in the US you are talking about the factory fires in New York? That was in 1910 I think, and I think almost 200 women (girls mostly) died in them. I don't remember women being shot by the US military while protesting for labor equality rights.

Sorry, you're right. I'm just doing so many things at once... I actually confused the reason why the 1st of May was remembered with the reason for the 8th of March being remebered. It was the fire yes. So in that memory women were preparing strikes on the 8th of March.
