I always thought this was one of the most boring games ever created. Weird animations, lame graphics...
But I ALWAYS came back to it. And actually bought the freaking game 3 times (on the N64, then again on the PSX, and later on I bought the DC version).
The Mortal Kombat series is weird: there are SO many flaws, yet they are odly addicting.
