Also, it seems there are only four or five in the entire country (of over 61 million people).
I am suprised that my nearest one is in Bradford, but thats the only strange one, since the others are in Glasgow, Manchester and London.
Given that Newcastle as a city has a population of approximately 190,000 people, and that combined with Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland (all very nearby) you could increase that to close to 1million, I feel we are routinely ignored except for a place to go and get wankered on a stag night.
