It could still be movie-like yet fix many of those niggling flaws

. Add more areas to explore off the "beaten path", add more random elements, allow for different strategies during combat (you get explosive barrels which seems to be the best Valve can do

- a gravity gun should allow for so much creative ideas yet they can't come up with more than one

).
Well I'm glad I got STALKER - very underrated game outside of the more hardcore gamers circle.
EDIT: I just completed Episode 1. I just don't get it. The ending scene was great cinematically but JESUS what the hell were Valve thinking?
- the horrible "go bring people to the train" FIVE TIMES while the combine kept respawning and respawning and respawning.
- incredibly boring locations - especially towards the end. It felt so artificial that it ripped you right out of the gaming world
- the end was ... UGH. There was a Stalker and using my wits I managed to kill him (I used the mines to do so). My reward? Valve thought "**** you, we'll make it respawn - you're not supposed to kill it yet". CREATIVITY IS PUNISHED! **** YOU Valve. **** YOU.
Seriously, aside from the cut scene at the end, the entire episode was painful and boring. Badly made, badly designed, and it's a travesty that it got so much positive reviews.
