I like the darkness. It's a great idea. More games should have it. k:

At first I hated the darkness in Doom 3 and the constant need to switch flashlight and weapon, but I resisted the temptation to get one of those mods which leaves the flashlight permanently on. Now that I'm further on, I'm glad I did -- there are some moments where it really makes the atmosphere. Running through a dark room and activating some zombies, then climbing a staircase and ducking into a dark corner which you hope is empty so you can see the silhouettes of the enemies as they climb the stairs after you and then gun them down is actually pretty scary stuff. If you could just shine a torch down the stairs while you're shooting it wouldn't have anywhere near the effect. [/b][/quote]
This is so true. This is the first time I have actually been scared while playing a game. Except of course Return to Caslte Wolfenstein. Those things with no legs freaked me out, but not as much as this game. And I've only played the first 3 levels of Doom 3.
