I really am amazed that this is abandonware, I mean comeon— nvidia didn't give it the 1999 game achievement of the year award for it to end up like this, it really is a superb game!
The company that bought the rights to Acclaim's games (in one big convenient package) already have made a version of the game for the PS2 only, but under a new name- RC Revenge Pro.
Â*Â*Â*... they ruined it.

1. "I get the no CD in drive error and after I put the compatibility for '98 I get another error: F
hunk(Kernel32.dll) any idea to make it work on XP?"
Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*2. "There's no music in this game"
Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*3. "crc-check, failed. ERROR: patch not applied"
1. It's a problem with the SecuROM protection on the CD that they ripped it off of, you need to have the 1207 patch on it (it has a no cd crack on it) for the game to work on newer computers.
2. If you want to hear the sound, you'll need to download the 0916 patch (1207 disables in-game music), then find the music files from somewhere.
3. You're looking at the wrong patch, the patches for this game you just unzip wherever you installed the game - done.
I don't find this game buggy at all other than the start of the race countdown on XP- but only with the tracks that came with the game, user-created tracks are fine.
If anyone is interested or has problems playing online I could make a full .iso of my re-volt disk and upload it somewhere.
