If you're not a terribly experienced user, I'd recommend finding a startup cleaning tool. While I can't publicly recommend my favorite because it's actually custom software that's designed for one of the big chain electronics store 'tech squads,' a suite designed for tuneups and the like will be able to help you decipher which startup entries are safe, which are potentiall bad, and which are unnecessary.
