I tried also to insert a boot disk with the basic files ( command.com; autoexec.bat etc) and it boots. damn, lomg time since I installed dos
, the dos disk 'should' be bootable, but if not for some reason then it is not enough to just copy those files from the other disk as you require some more files and they need to be written to a particular part of the HDD , if it is a DOS boot disk then you will need to copy the format.exe (?? not sure on extension) or sys.com(??) files to the boot disk and then boot from it and either run ' format c: /s ' or 'sys c:' to copy them correctly
