I agree, gregor. And weren't the US troups originally supposed to be a kind of liberatoring force? That is, freeing the Iraqy people from an evil dictator. And why are they still there committing atrocities against civillians? There are soldiers from my country there as well. *sigh* But we, the people, get no say over whether we send soldiers to fight in wrong causes or not. It has never been proven that Iraq was behind the bombing of the US Twin Towers. And it was never proven that they had weapons of mass destruction which was the other main reason for liberation/invasion.
Oh, the topic...Virginnia shootings...I think civillians shouldn't be given guns as there are a minority of people who go through periods of not being in control of their moods or themselves. During these times, anything can set them off. If they're armed, they're dangerous to themselves and others. Recently, in a small town near me, a man tried to kill himself. When he was foiled by paramedics who arrived on the scene, he assaulted one of them. When the police arrived, he threatened them with a double-bow and arrow. He couldn't be persuaded to put down the weapon, so he was shot - but not fatally. Before this incident, he was a model citizen who everyone in this small town thought was ok.
