Well, post-Second World War Germany and Japan for example, but a World War is a very special case. And as I've said I don't think Iraq is going anywhere near democracy. And if the excuse for the coup in Thailand was that democracy was going down towards populism or whatever the generals say, the logical consequence is that if you end the current dictatorship and implement democracy it will go the same way down. Maybe the generals think that everything will be fine because they'll negotiate the end of terrorism, good luck with that, it doesn't look like it.
