Yup, defragging can do you a whole world of good. Try adding some RAM to the computer, maybe. Also check the BIOS settings.

Finally, remember that PC's just slow down after a while. My current PC has sped up a fair bit after I ran a cleaning cycle on it (lots, lots of various methods to improve function), but now it slowed down back again and the methods I used earlier just don't work anymore. This includes multiple online and offline defrags, registry cleanup, uninstallation of software and numerous virus scans. Some cases are just hopeless.
