Not to mention that you'll quickly hurt your arm that way. One full-impact hit while having your arm stretched and the arm could already be disabled due to an overbent elbow. Always, always land hits with your center, and even more always, always land it with an arm that's bend enough, to avoid injury at the elbows. Same goes for knees, btw, but kicking in swordfights's just asking for a prothese.
