It worked for me today, yes, maybe you answered during the switch of the picture. :)

What happens at the GMT+2 changeover of the screenshot quiz?
Today I got a gif file http://www.abandonia.com/files/20110912.gif
http://www.abandonia.com/files/20110912.gif
at exactly GMT+2 which is from
spoiler
but a minute later came the png file which is currently there
http://www.abandonia.com/files/20110912.png
and when I answered the game that it came from I was ruled correct.

I can't tell you for sure, but it looks like a load glitch during the changeover.
Sorry but I can't do much for that, the code may have little problems, but which code is perfect? :)

BTW we have started to update all game nodes too reduce quiz errors, it will take lot of time but the result is guaranteed.

I just wonder though because it is still on the server the Abandonia server the picture of http://www.abandonia.com/files/20110912.gif in addition to the current quiz photo of http://www.abandonia.com/files/20110912.png
Both are currently active links for the date of 2011-09-12.

Interesting, I will give it a look, they have the same filename but I suspect it's a matter of different file type (.png and .gif)

I've replaced Quarantine II screenshots, it is possible that they were the source of the glitch because of their wrong format and wrong filename.
If you notice something else let me know, thanksfor the report :)

Well, if you consider a .gif a wrong format, you still have tens of games on the site with .gifs or .jpg as their picture format instead of .png and even one game (Gobliiins) with .bmp as its picture format.

If you would like, I can give you a detailed list.

Thanks, it's a nice idea, I will definitely give it a look. :)

However I think the problem was a mix of two events, the different format and the name of the node that was edited from Quarantine II to Quarantine II - Road Warrior, but the screenshots kept the old name.

O.K.

Here is a partial list so far through letter "B". Let me know if its any help and if you would like me to check the rest.
List

It looks like the problem occurs with .gifs that are recognized as .pngs

For example:
Back to the Future Part II

If you try to save the 8th picture you'll see a file named:
Back to the Future Part II_8.gif.png

However .jpgs pictures are ok, same for animated gifs.

It would be great to have a detailed list, but it will probably take lot of time for you to prepare.
