Is Neverwinter Nights nice game?

Hi, dear all!

Before 5 minutes i started without problem the game Neverwinter Nights.
No Dosbox. Run under Win 7 Ultimate 32 bits. Monitor 26 inches.
Sound and music - Yes.
Plus 2 more expansion packs:
-The shadows of Undrentide
- Hordes of the Underdark
Version 1.68
I passed
Baldur gate saga and
Icewind Dale1&2

Please, would be so kind tell me what do YOU think about this game?
Any opinion is welcome.

Thank You for your time and answer.

Is considered one of the worst game of BioWare, never played it anyway.

Dave 10-04-2012 03:17 PM

I really enjoyed them yoga, especially the basic episode and the expansion Hordes of the Underdark that lets you reach epic levels and has a deep story.

Shadows of Undrentide was funny but wasn't epic like the other two adventures IMO, it's a matter of taste I guess...and even if it lets you port your pg from other adventures I recommend to start with a new one because it's not balanced for strong pgs.

Have a good play yoga :)

Tomekk 11-04-2012 07:40 AM

I honestly only played the multiplayer aspect in both NWN1 and NWN2... but nah, they're not bad games. ;)

Just don't go building a Bard/Red Dragon Disciple the moment you start the first campaign, okay?:p

Smiling Spectre 11-04-2012 09:10 AM

I aquired full first part, both addons, spend a lot of time patching it to latest possible version, run it... and wasn't able to continue play beyond first dungeon. :( It looks too cliche and generic for me in plot, it have too little interactive objects (actually, it's too many interactive objects to expect something nice and interesting of it... until you discovering that it's always the same items and it have not much). Also, only one teammate. Also, too much similarities with BG and IWD without it's drive. Also, camera... aah, forget it, not my game. :(

I hope, NWN2 will be better. I bought it on Steam recently too. :)

TotalAnarchy 11-04-2012 10:05 AM

It is certainly the first title where Bioware showed its linear tendencies, but I had fun nonetheless.

Scatty 11-04-2012 12:30 PM

It can be fun, and a lot especially in the second addon and it's unofficial fan-made campaign which kinda continues the story of Hordes of the Underdark - The Gods Themselves Trilogy. In a nutshell, Neverwinter Nights is Baldur's Gate with less fun and story, and more and better graphics. And smaller game world (actually no game world as interconnected as it is in Baldur's Gate games) and smaller area maps.
Just give it a try and don't ask others too much, you only know a game when you try it yourself :)

EDIT: And Heretic 2 is very nice, I daresay... wish I could say that of Hexen 2, but I can't bloody finish that game and it's cryptic puzzles and repetitive level design...

hunvagy 12-04-2012 05:38 AM

NWN is fundamentally different, as most pointed out so far. It uses a different DnD system as well, so you have a bit of learning ahead of you again. The OC is boring as feck, though. Shadows of Undrentide is nifty, but your best bet is to go to the nwvault and get some well crafted modules. Like Darkness over Daggerford, Witch's Wake and so on. Also if you have it legally, go online and find a nice RP server. They are still all there. Oh and if you get your hands on the premium modules... Pirates of the Swordcoast is awesome.

Dear Hunvagy, You always surprised me.
You know all about all games!
In my life in AB every day I asked myself:
-Who is this proud son of Hungary, so clever and so intelligent?
How is possible to know so much games?

..Sadly my copy of this game was presented me by some pirate with good hearth.:no:So sorry.
Is it true that there is no need of food and water?
Because I am still school boy in the Academy i have no much experience, pls.

My sincere thanks for Your time and help.
If You do not mind what is your present game?
I have to beat Dragoth in last battle in Dungeon Master 2.

OFF
But where is this nice TWILIGHT?

Nope, no food or water. It is like Baldur's Gate in that regards. And it is just he or she, since you only have a single character (and a hireling). And even if your copy isn't legal, there's tons of stuff here (for instance a remake of EOBI) http://nwvault.ign.com/fms/TopRated.php?content=modules

As for gaming knowledge.. I'm a gamer :p But really, ever since Dark Sun: Shattered Lands contaminated me, I either played or just came into knowledge of most wRPGs on the PC, good or bad. (yes, just another opportunity to mention Descent to Undermountain)

No, my goal is not 1 000 000 posts.

If possible i will ask Mod to zero my posts.

Aber I do not hear what do you think about the game in question.
Hope you do not think this is another Q for help similar to our quarrel concerning my Doors problem in DM2?

But I do not want dispute at this great day - Easter.

Tried it. Didn't like it. Ditched it.

However I can understand that others like the game, at the end it's "each his own, different tastes" etcetera blah blah.

I usually don't spend time about why this game sucks and the other one is sóó much better, I have a lot more interesting things to do in my life.

Just play the game and see if you like it, what does it matter if we like it or not?

To save you asking the game isn't horrible but isn't great. I always had more fun making my own worlds in it then playing the standard stories and that is where you will find the best stories in other peoples content.

Can your computer even handle NWN2? Does it meet the basic requirements? I ask cause I know that on my last two PCs the game was a massive problem to get to run since I only just scraped in over that basic amount.

hunvagy 19-04-2012 08:03 AM

I would say "that's what you get for using a pirate copy" And yes, if you couldn't run Skyrim, how's NWN2 supposed to work for you?

@DarthHelmet86
:)
You are absolutely correct, dear DarthHelmet86.

This is my second desktop PC configuration which is weaker that the one which can not run Skyrim. BTW do You finish Skyrim?

@hunvagy
..and You are absolutely correct, dear Hunvagy.
Your phenomenal memory remember that fact (Skyrim) and yes again the same good pirate presented me NWN2.
Psttt! No one have to hear this fact.:smile2:

For both

Yoga the brave will start massive campaign to improve his PC's.
First PC configuration was presented to neighbor.
The second one will be present soon to another friend of mine.
The best one PC configuration will have better video card - with min. 1 GB RAM. (the present RAM is 128 MB only). So step by step yoga will improve all PC's.
I had 4 PC's configurations.

It is time. I want to play nice games.

Capo 19-04-2012 03:15 PM

You should buy some games yoga, you cant pirate them all :whops:

Scatty 19-04-2012 09:29 PM

A true gamer should buy the games that deserve it.

hunvagy 20-04-2012 07:03 AM

Especially when the games are dirt cheap. Not to mention that you need a legal copy to go online anyway, and that is the best place to play NWN2. The SP campaign gets boring very fast.

YES, YES!

YOU - Caro Capo, Dear Master and nice Hunvagy are abs. correct.

But please do not think that the brave is poor man as the real Indian yoga is.
No. Yoga is a fair Bulgarian but he (I) is very, very lazy.
Moreover the financial bureaucracy in my lovely BG (Master, this is Bulgaria no Baldur gate ha ha ha) is so big, that even my humble donations to AB are executed by friend of mine.
Simple, I have no PayPal account still!
But I am sure that soon this mistake will be solved.

Sry for my delay but 2 days I was in the village to prepare my vine yard.
After the regular cutting of the every vine plant, we collected the cut twigs and removed from the field. Some neighbors used to fire them but economical yoga bring them all for heating in my country house in the summer cold days.
Location? Village Cherven (Червен means Red) you may see it on Google maps if written. 7 kilometers East from my town Asenovgrad.

So yoga must upgrade the hardware of his 1-st machine now.
I am not hurry.
I am in AB long before mighty DarthHelmeth86 and before more mighty Paco.
I remember the nice Kosta even.

Is your town googled?

Caro Capo, plz do not forget your vine yard.

Just to advise that my vine is so good that the mother drinks and do not gives the glass of vine to her child.
Si, si.

This is not joke. My vine (about 100 liters) keeps its sweet flavor yet.
To be fair the women like it much more. But as every live organism this wine will matures and after a while it will became natural, real Merlot. I like the transition period between sweet vine and real wine.
Hope You understand me.

No, my vine is not for business. Just for consumption in house and friends and good pirate.
Moreover as real yog I do make special yellow cheese (BG name is kashkaval) from cow natural milk.
From 4 liters cow milk i do about 700 grams yellow cheese.

Then I do by my french home maid bread Muli*ex device real bread without dangerous chemical E's and sodium mono glutamate - extremely dangerous chemical which tell our brain that bad food we eat is brilliant!!!
Rats!!! In BG one may find this poison in Mag*i soups.

Note: You know why i am using * in company names.

..I think that about my birthday (your slave is Gemini) I will have new video card - min. 1 GB memory. So the day i will play Skyrim or NWN2 is not so far.
:whistling:

Master Scatty,
I plan to game all Ultima saga. Now i finished only UW2.
Is it a good idea?
Some men advised me U9 is a poor game. ??.

My far plan is to pass more hard games.
Gnadige Frеund KMONSTER knows what i talking about. Wizardry VI, VII etc.
But still i am too young for this saga, maybe.

The game Fade to Black is not reviewed / available for download on this site, so you cannot add it to your profile.

Bureaucracy, unfair additional fees - stupidity of high level. :(

Steam

Yes, we will meet this band soon. I respect every taste.
But Russian has a proverb:

Maddy Prior - from Steeleye Span,- Rogues in a nation, Lowlands of Holland.
Anne Briggs - Sing a song for you
- traditional Irish songs - Dervish etc.

(RIP, dear Sandy - tears in my eyes:(- We will never forget YOU!) - alone and with Fairport convention, Go Your Way My Love, Pretty Poly.
Maddy Prior - from Steeleye Span,- Rogues in a nation, Lowlands of Holland.
Anne Briggs - Sing a song for you
- traditional Irish songs - Dervish etc.

yoga, who is about 200 years old and targeting 300 has songs of the USA singer Leadbelly from 1925 years.:whistling:

ha ha ha

With Your kind permission I will shout loudly an old hippie slogan:
-Make love not war.

crazy and mad yoga

But what said the Cheshire Cat to small Alice?
Quotation by memory:
- I am mad, you are mad... (L. Carrol)

Hi, all,

No, no I am not scrape-penny.
I delay my answer because I started my holiday and I am not in my town but in our capital – Sofia. Even the PC is not mine but friend give me a laptop.
I have about 33 liters hand-made wine left.
I am from these humans that feel better when make present not visa verse. Believe me.
But the worst thing is that the BG state post offices and private companies categorically refuse to bring my wine to you.
-Why? – I asked.
--Because, yoga, your wine is NOT STABILIZED as ordinary ones and there is danger to explode during transportation and makes big damages to packets.

Caro Capo and dear Lulu, do YOU have some friends in Sofia, Bulgaria? If yes, pls give me their addresses and no more problems.

Yours

Yoga the brave

:D
