Am I the only one here who doesn't follow the flight path? On the hardest difficulty setting, you'll mostly run out out of ammo on the top, tail, cheek, and ball turret of your plane. It effectively makes it near impossible to survive against enemy fighters. It doesn't help that all the other bombers get shot down rather quickly. In the end, I just fly in such a way that I avoid as many enemy airports as possible. That way, I only have to make sure my plane doesn't run out of fuel or go on fire randomly. Is there a way to increase mission success rate on a trip to Berlin and back? Increasing altitude doesn't seem to help - enemy airplanes will still go after you, even after you've reached your ceiling height. Does it determine the accuracy of enemy anti-aircraft guns? If it doesn't, increasing the altitude seems rather useless. Also, one annoying bug: if you fly too far north, your plane instantly goes down. I only have 6 more missions left or so. The last few missions are nearly impossible. I keep loading to find an easier (ie. closer) target. |

It is? EDIT: Ah yes, judging from the release date, it probably is a different game. |

deaddonkey | One other thing I forgot to mention. I never really liked the sound in this game. I know it's an older game so I will forgive it but I think this game needed a sound when you were opening the bomb doors. I would use the bomb site and would sometimes push the bombbay doors open button a few times I could never tell if it was opening or not only to miss my chance at the target.

deaddonkey | This game is so great. Not nearly as frantic as other flight sims but there are still white knuckle moments. I remember playing this back when it first came out. I only ever played my friends copy and I played the hell out of it. I wish I did pick it up when it first came out. That first manual that was released that was hundreds of pages with tons of historical information was awesome.

That's because I'm an idiot. http://www.b17fanclub.com/ There is the real link. Sheesh. My own site I paid good money for and can't even remember how to get there. It's laughable. |

You could just become a member, it's not that hard to sign up. Then you wouldn't need to worry about posting. On your first link I get the same Site not published as Japo, on your two new ones Site not found. |

Well, that pisses me off. Quote:
It should not be www.b17fan.com; but that's not working right now either! http://www.b17fan.com/ There's the link, now this image verification is the hardest I have ever encountered anywhere, so I doubt I'll post here again. Too much of a pain in the rear end. But, I'll get that site working. It has historical and accurate information about the B-17, links about B-17, info and links about the game, and information on modding. |
