Alecki Just a quick note: Alien Breed (and Tower Defence) is now available on gog.com making it easy to pickup there.

Thank you for clearing that up and thank you to DarthHelmet86 for the update.

DarthHelmet86 Click on boxshots and you will get to see a nice image of the diskette in all it's glory.

cdnp Hello.
The recent update (posted by DarthHelmet86 // 24-09-2011) mentions:
"We bring you a manual and diskette image for the great game Alien Breed, sadly the game is protected by the ESA but for those who have it or are collectors of manuals and the like scoot on over and get these hard fought for extras."

The manual is now available on the game page but not the diskette image. Is that an oversight or is it because the game is still ESA protected?

Thank you.

Dave Are you sure? I played both version and I didn't see such a big difference, actually I found Dos version harder because the respawn seems more aggressive. Maybe you didn't set the right cycles into DosBox?

Alien Breed

I am the guest who posted around a month ago, and stated that I couldn't buy weapons in the PC version. Anyway, I was able to get a copy of Alien Breed SE for the Amiga going, and it's the same game (I'm guessing the people who ported AB to DOS ported the Special Edition rather than the original). The graphics and sound are clearly better, but it's also a lot harder. The aliens move much faster than in the DOS port. So far, I'm very pleased.

_r.u.s.s. i was probably drunk or something and googled it up on a random abandonware site then

Dave That's not possible , the version on FTP is the freeware remake, you can verify it yourself. Also I'm sure because I prepared the Alien Breed video for youtube at February (the archive was downloaded from here a couple of years ago) and reported that we were offering the freeware game to TotalAnarchy who removed the download and added the link into review.

You can see it here:

And into updaters forums:

But I don't know who substituted the original with the remake and when.
