Eagle of Fire | You need to be logged on the site before you can use the forums as a logged member. You probably simply need to sign off from the site and sign up again. That should write the cookie which is nonexistent on your new browser. | |

I just upgraded to Firefox 4 and now I can't login. Everytime I do so and go to the forums it shows as if I'm not logged in. Is this an issue with Firefox 4 or has another bug appeared? EDIT: For some reason I can post here, but I cannot see the chatbox at the bottom, and I get all the messages at the top that you get if you're not a member ("If this is your first visit, be sure to check of the FAQ..."), etc. Weird. |

Things seem to change every time I log in, either that or I just notice different things. The link to the Abandonia graphic one again brings me back to the home page... a good thing! Everything else seems to work okay (with some perception adjustments I need to make from what things are now to what I was used to in the before time). To report (see attachment): English is my selected language for viewing the site and the "select language" nerd text reads "select langua". The ad banner header cuts into the ad in the right column, which pays me no nevermind whatsoever. Thank you to all of the powers in place who are responsible for getting the people who can correct things to correct them. Nicely done! |

There's no need for a whole new thread if the question is mildly still on the subject AND the answer given to it (by EoF) states more work then wanted. (I'm not in the mood of using NoScript, cause that gives me the feel of using a shotgun on ALL sites I go to) Anyway, rerailing back on the menubar topic. It's 99% fine again here. the 1% annoyance that I now seem to have is that the site gives a horizontal scrollbar, cause the space for the right side ads is still "reserved". Although they are blocked by ABP. |

Anyhow, when there are obvious problems with a site, I make the assumption that those who can do things to fix it, actually want to hear about it. If they seem to be going down the road where they think that each report is a problem with the platform it was run on, rather than a global issue, and if my platform has the problem but seems to be atypical in some way... Then I think it's even more important that I let them know. If the powers-that-be don't want a ton of whiny, complainy posts, then it is up to them to set the tone, and keep people informed what's going on. The point at which they've decided that it's really a global problem is critical and they should advertise it unequivocally. That way people won't be in must-convince-these-guys-the-problem-isn't-me mode. Maybe even say "thanks for the reports", once in a while. Anyhow, when the banner-ad at the top came back, the problems all went away for me, as far as I can tell. I'm the IE8/no adblocker guy. |
