The problem is only in the gta24_uk.exe (and maybe gta24.exe, I haven't actually played the "normal" gta long enough to see a cutscene and I deleted my old savegames |

Most probably: yes You need xcopy somewhere in the path to use the dos based installer, easiest is to put it in your virtual C:\ root. MsDos one or freedos one http://www.freedos.org/software/?prog=xcopy As xcopy is an "external" command the dosbox devs can not include it. Ans there was something about an extra "set" instruction, copy=y or cmd /y....??? must look it up. I'll be back. ...... [Edit] Back. Yep, you need to input set copycmd=/Y before launching the installer. Knew there was something .... http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopi...&highlight=gta |

GTA1+London+DOSBox 1. I tried installing GTA and London 1969 from the original CD's in DOSbox-0.74 but the installation doesn't work (neither one) even though: Quote:
Anyway, I just manually copied the necessary files from the CD's and both games can be played. 2. Every time a cutscene is played the game slows down to almost a halt. I noticed that a cutscene makes hundreds of *.tga files in GTADOS folder. After a few cutscenes I could have ~1 gig of those files on my HDD (BTW, the files are named DUMP*.tga, where * is an increasing number). I opened one of these dump-files in GIMP, the files are pictures of the cutscenes. It's like the game takes a screenshot of every single frame of a cutscene The cutscene problem is only present with the high color version of the game. Everything works fine with the low color version but I rather play with the better graphics. Any ideas how to fix the cutscenes? Could this be caused by the copy-paste installation and if so, how to install the game properly? Also, I know Rockstar is offering the game for free on their website. Does that version work in Windows 7 and/or DOSBox and does it have the CD-audio tracks (or can it play the tracks from the original CD(s))? I'd rather use my original CDs. |
