setups always unpack some files, so look in to CD directory if there are some. especially, look for *.CAB files, its the most used packing in such a games |

gregor | What i ment is i am surprised they work on Win2000 and not on XP, cause 2000 and XP have very similar structure. |

You must really be a newcomer to this old games stuff if you find strange that XP can make problems happen while running old games. I'd suggest you try VDMSound if the issue is only because of the sound. Edit: of course, I forgot that Win98 can't use VDMSound... Probably an issue with your sound card not properly configured, either in your config.sys/autoexec.bat or in the game itself. |

I have a problme running it in WIN 98 Dont' know why, but game starts and there is no sound. tried everything. Then my bro sets it up on his notebook with win 2000 installed. worked like a clock. so i am really surprised to hear XP can make trouble. Strange. |

I don't think it's such an old game, so most of my knowledge don't really apply here. However, did you try to use the compatibility tabs? If the game is made to be run in DOS, you could also try DOSBox. |

I seriously doubt that AvP 2 installer is 16 bit. Something else must be the problem. |
